Nursing Bras at Hotmilk Lingerie

We understand that it's an expensive time in a family's life, so we have made this step simpler, now you can buy a maternity bra, that will expand with you and already has the nursing clips for when you breastfeed, so we refer to our bras as both, maternity bras and a nursing bra, they are one in the same and will be with your through your whole pregnancy and breastfeeding journey.

We recommend at least 3 nursing bras, one in the wash, one in the drawer waiting, and one on the body!

Learn more about Hotmilk Maternity bras

Hotmilk nursing bras are not only sexy and stylish – but are both functional and comfortable too.

Our maternity bras come with one-handed traditional maternity clips or twist-to-open magnetic clips, allowing for ease of breastfeeding.  Many of our maternity bras have 100% cotton lining (allowing the bra that contacts your body to be comfortable and is ideal against sensitive skin), and our nursing bras offer amazing support, up to a J cup for larger busts. Seam-friendly cups on the maternity bras offer the ultimate comfort and support without any compromise on sophistication or style throughout your breastfeeding journey.

Maternity Nursing Bra Features

Maternity bras have 6 hooks at the back allowing you to extend the bra out with your pregnancy and clip back closer postpartum, after you have given birth. Hotmilk follows global recommendations that a nursing bra should not have hard metal wires, we either use no wires at all or flexi-wires allowing the bra to move with your body.

Hotmilk’s range of maternity lingerie is designed to feel comfortable, glamorous, and feminine all without compromising on special features that make breastfeeding easy and discrete.

FAQS

Why do I need a maternity bra?

Traditional, non-maternity bras can’t grow with your changing body, leaving you feeling uncomfortable. They also lack added features that make breastfeeding, easy.  Nursing bras offer added features compared to standard bras. They have the added feature of a clip, which allows for easy fuss-free feeding of your infant and they are designed to stretch and grow with your changing body shape.  There is no reason why you can’t wear a nursing bra during your pregnancy and it will expand with you into breastfeeding, we recommend you choose a cup size larger to grow into it when the milk comes in.

What is my nursing bra size?

Your body and breasts will change through each trimester.  Our maternity  bras are designed to grow with you so that hopefully, you don't have to purchase too many different nursing bra sizes.  A rough guide is that most people will go up one band size and 1-2 cup sizes through their maternity journey.  A perfectly fitting maternity bra should not be too tight, and sit beneath your bust with the band flat across your back and have room on the hooks to expand out over your pregnancy.

How do I fit my new Hotmilk nursing bra?

Once you have your maternity bra sizing figured out, you need to know how to use your nursing bra. These extra steps will make sure you have the right fit and keep you comfortable and supported. Keep reading to learn more about fitting your new Hotmilk maternity bra.

Why Hotmilk Flexi-wire Nursing Bras?

Hotmilk’s flexi-wire technology offers a fit and support that’s similar to your standard bra, while also being able to be worn while you breastfeed.

When should I buy a nursing bra?

Unsure of when you should make the switch from your standard bra to a maternity bra? Each pregnancy is different, so the answer will depend on several factors. Typically, we suggest it's when the time is right for you.  When you start to notice any discomfort, or spilling over, it's time to move to a new maternity bra, just ensure it's generous enough to expand with you over the coming months.

Find the Right Nursing Bra with Hotmilk

As with all bras, finding the right maternity bra fit can be a challenge. It is the same process as with standard bras, the band under your bust should sit flat across your back not riding upwards. Avoiding any cutting in on your breast tissue is important when pregnant and breastfeeding. Nursing bras which are too tight can restrict the flow and amount of milk produced – so it is important to change to a Maternity bra or Nursing bra after you feel like your non-maternity bras are uncomfortable and no longer fitting or offer the right support.

You may find your cup sizes change as your pregnancy progresses, every pregnancy and woman is different, however, you may find you need to go up 1-2 cup sizes and increase your band size as your baby grows. Further changes can occur during the nursing cycle, when your milk flow comes in you may increase the cup size before your bust size settles again.
